He's 22 months old very smart and has a cold.
What this means is lots of snot, but he can blow his own nose, which is VERY convenient.
Unfortunately he likes to use 4-8 sheets of tissue each and every time. I think I'm gonna go broke.
Kids are fun, frustrating, creative and entertaining. This is just my observations on what he's up to. Or at least what I caught him doing.

Up and Open
He doesn't quite understand up or open.
He'll say up to be picked up, and up to be put down.
He'll say open to open something, or open to close something.
I think he sees up and open as toggle "vertical status" or "product coverage".
It's kinda funnty

He's made of snot
He's sick, and snotty.
I've seen snotty kids before, but this is ridiculous.
He's just drenched, unlike other toddlers he will blow his nose if you hold it up, I'm going through a box or more a day.
There is just too much snot!!!!

Happy
Todays word was happy.
We went to the mall, he wanted a happy face balloon. We regularly get the foil balloons from the dollar store, he thinks they're hilarious.
He also got some happy face stickers from the Walmart Greeter, he loves stickers.
He was a smiling guy all day, makes ME happy too.

Cut popsicles
He's decided he likes popsicles.
He also thinks that on the stick is somehow unacceptable.
Now when he wants a popsicle he says pop, and signs popsicle, then says "cut". Meaning he wants it cut up into sections and thrown in a bowl. He loves to eat them this way, which is fine, but his hands are a rainbow of food colouring. Looks a little funny, but toddlers often do.

Banana Ice Cream Cones
He likes bananas, he likes Ice cream cones.
I ran out of ice cream, so I just shoved a chunk of banana in a mini ice cream cone. He thought it was the greatest thing ever, and they don't melt.

Little guy seems to think we can’t fetch items.
He has recently decided that we need stuff from a cupboard across the house. Apparently we need this stuff quite often, because it gets it for us ALL THE TIME.
It happens like this, we hear silence for a while as he slowly wanders, apparently deep in thought, over to the far corner of the house, where he opens the cupboard and pulls out an item.
He then carefully carries it across the house and holds it up for our approval.
If we say what it is he’ll either repeat it back, or if it is a complicated word he simply responds yes. For some words there is a long pause before he decides if he can say it, or if a “yes” is more appropriate.
The then smiles and retrieves the next item. All the while with a HUGE smile. This continues until the cupboard is empty or we physically stop him from doing so.
In either case he gets a bit disappointed when he has to stop, apparently emptying cupboards is the epitome of helpfulness.

Zoom
My guy didn't like car rides. He'd scream the whole time, apparently this is unusual.
With Grandparents 2 hours away a visit made 4 hours of crying, and yes he'd stay up that long, then sleep through the visit. We tried everything.
Taking him to daycare in the morning was the same thing, so I started a game, every car that whizzed by in the opposite direction I'd say "ZOOM" as it passed. Then he started.
Now we loves the car, when he wants a ride he walks to the door going "zoom, zoom".

Naptime
Little guy doesn't like his naps.
He's on a schedule now, daycare center helped with that. They say he sleeps great.
I put him to bed and he cries screaming Daddy!!!! It's only for a few minutes, but I really don't like it. It's upsetting to not run to his aid when he is calling for you.

Popsicles
The little guy likes popsicles.
He picked that word and sign (we taught some ASL) fast.
However he decided he doesn't like popsicle sticks. So he asks for them to be cut, he eats his popsicle out of a small plastic bowl in chunks.
It's funny, he ends up with food colouring stained hands and streams running down his arms.
But he smiles, and that's enough for me.

Easter Chocolate
Not sure he gets the point of candy.
He found chocolate eggs full of smarties, he broke them open, dumped the smarties on the floor, handed me the chocolate egg and said "all done". Then he went back to playing.
I offered him chocolate, he said apple and went through my lunch before I left for work.
I guess I should be happy.

Kleenex
So like every other toddler the little guy likes to pull kleenex from the box, or unroll toilet paper.
However last night after a few weeks of this game I guess it was getting a bit slow. He decided that it was much more efficient to open the sides of the box and remove the Kleenex all at once.
Yeah it's great that he's smart, but now he can destroy the box in seconds.
